So i've been running the Champion iridium plugs since late Feb. Since then, in addition to driving all over town, the truck has made 2 trips to Parowan Utah and back, and hasn't skipped a beat. I think it's safe to say that, at least on the 8.1's, the Champions work fine.

Generally if the starter goes bad, itll start drawing more and more power from the battery to work. and if you dont drive enough between cycles to let the alternator replenish the charge, itll slowly kill the battery. Final nail in the coffin would be when your starter died Sent from my XT1585...
