2003 Yukon XL 1500 AMP

Started my truck today noticed didn't have door chimes. Weird… start it up and the radio comes on I can change volume I can change source and I can mess with everything else but no sound out of speakers at all. Checked the fuses and they look fine… am I looking for a new amp? Or do I need to check another spot. Is an OEM BOSE the best replacement? I want to keep door chimes and RSE and all of that but don't mind switching. My current setup is 100% stock.

Welcome!

Your Bose amp may have died. It lives under center console. You can remove inner storage box and you may enough space to check for voltage to it. It receives line-level output from your stereo and powers all the speakers, including the door chimes and the built-in subwoofer.

Visit the Crutchfield website and put in your specific vehicle options. They have an article on what to do about replacing the Bose amp. They mention that replacing it with an aftermarket amp is a good option because you have to remove the front seats and console to get to it. Otherwise, it's doable.

A replacement with a used Bose amp from ebay is another option. Again, as long as you don't mind removing the seats to get to it.

Edit: I made a mistake, sorry. You have to remove tbe center console to replace the Bose amp, NOT the front seats. Although removal of the seats may make the job easier.

Welcome to the forum!

As stutaeng says, it sound like your amp died. Crutchfield is an amazing place and they will definitely help guide you whichever way you go. I would suggest not using an OEM Bose amp. Amps have actually come a long way in the intervening 23 years. If you even decide to stay with an external amp.
