    12k is way too much, even with all of that fixed it is a lot. I admit I look at body, and interior condition, as mechanicals are easier to take care of. I hope you find something good, it took me a while too.

    An 800, 400 is still made until 2000 also. Unified electronic architecture isn't until 2001, and Allison is still a separate language until 2003. Canbus is 2003. AFAIK

    I have heard that as well, about the Trailblazer converter. Converters also act differently with lighter vs heavier vehicles; plus the gearing in the transmission as the 4L80E has a tall 1st gear.

    It might be just a simple bidirectional scanner thing, my foxwell 510 I went into the abs and set the tire size the module calls itself 4WAL, it is by kelsey-hayes.

    Yeah, 4.56's are best, but that is aftermarket stuff, best find for a junkyard swap will be 4.10's. AFAIK I mean I have heard about 4.56's from the factory, though never seen them in a pickup 14 bolt.

    That is a bummer the mechanic isn't going to help. Next I would do what ORVietVet and others suggest is check it with a fuel pressure gauge.

    I have seen them break around the ports for the PCV, I have also seen the air intake tubes get holes rubbed in them by a pulley, and stuff just loose. Who knows?

    I'm leery of changing parts, as you said you have tried multiple parts like IAC's, and TB's. It very well could be a CPS, or the Fuel Pump; besides what ORVietVet suggests checking the fuel pressure, try a vacuum gauge on the intake, the intake could have bad gaskets, or be cracked. Before...
