    Should I?

112 LSA going to have a noticeable idle, not too bad though. I like Comp so I generally go with them, I also like going through summit and one can read what people write. The TS S2 cam feels sort of somewhere like: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-54-451-11...

Yeah, you are right that is probably a no go then.

    Alternator / Charging system diag

Winter always kills batteries too. I'd check everything like everyone mentions, and get some contact cleaner, and dielectric grease, and prepare to maybe buy an alternator, battery or both. They are super easy to change, not like some vehicles where it's buried...

If doing the oil pan do the oil pump pickup o-ring, and with transmission out the oil pressure sender.

I would go for the whole rolled truck over the frame you have now, less work putting the bus body on a complete chassis vs chasing a bunch of parts.

    New (to me) Shit box.

Rear brakes are mostly to control braking vs dive and such, most braking/stopping is in the front.

Welcome from Indiana! Shame about the car, glad your daughter is ok. Sounds like a pretty decent deal otherwise. Burgundy is a nice color, interesting story.

I agree, looks like a 1500 RWD frame. That is a really cool bus, nice project.

Welcome to the forum, I don't know if they still stamp it on there, look around where the cab sits. 2500/3500 frame is taller than the 1500, one a way you can tell, and all the rear axles will bolt up I think.

Loud "clunk" when shifting from park to drive, drive to reverse, etc.

Not shifting past third is a big deal, myself I would take it to a shop. My 2500 6.0/4L80E 4x4 has noticeable clunk when going into gear from park, it's lash in the transmisson, transfer case, and rear; it feels excessive, though I have read a technical service bulletin from GM saying some is...

A lot of people swear by the seat shop as being really good for restoring seats: https://www.theseatshop.com/

    Better reverse lighting ...

I bought a cheap backup camera at walmart, like $18 or so, works.

The drl driving/headlights are on, because it is a 99.

Putting fog lamp switch in a truck without them (2005 2500HD)

All I notice is that there is an indicator light next to the button, and the fog lights light up. The light next to the button is very small, it's enough you can see it in daylight, but that is about it.

Rusty Fuel Lines: Replacing lines not enough

As a mechanic in this area, the worst is that salty rust flake in your eye, try to pull it out with a magnet or something, it stings like crazy, use eye wash.

    Wind drafts

Yes, on the freeway, imo it's the rubber seal, never was wiped down with silicone like the owners manual says, and has shrunk.
