    Greats from East Germany

Welcome! Bienbenido! That's one beautiful GMT800 truck! Very clean pristine. Good to these trucks abroad!

    Auto climate control issue

Those are the exact same symptom my 06 Suburban had, but I replaced the headliner temperature sensor and it got fixed... The blower slows down when you set it to 80? Umm, that's not supposed to happen... I think a scanner with bi-directional controls should be able to override the blend door...

Return style fuel system on a 2005

Yes, most likely. Google also says the returnless is better for emissions. Probably less fuel vapor loss or something? So are you thinking of converting to a return fuel system on your truck? It would be interesting to see how easy/difficult to swap and how long that takes...

Verifying that these rims fit & thoughts on looks

Close enough to kiss! :) Ya, those rear jounce stops are like bad girlfriends: they hang with you so long, then don't even say goodbye when they disappear...SMH

Verifying that these rims fit & thoughts on looks

Looks like you have a lot of room...Yeah, I have those standard lug nuts on my wheels too. SMH. Maybe try to find a ramp or steep driveway where you can turn the wheel while flexing the suspension just to make sure you don't rubbing?

Verifying that these rims fit & thoughts on looks

Great news! You can measure the distance between the top of the rubber and the wheel well, then compare that to the distance between the jounce stop and the axle pad. Probably should be fine. I think the payload on these is rated for around 1500-1600lbs? But I once loaded my truck with a full...

Return style fuel system on a 2005

Return style is I think easier to diagnose. You can simply temporarily plug or cap the return hose and check for maximum pump pressure delivery, and see if maybe the fuel pump check valve is releasing back pressure on the feed line. I'm not sure that you can do that on a returnless system. I...

Features deleted by GM (gmt800 life cycle)

Yeah. I think they (GM) started rolling some stuff off the assembly line under the table since they had Gen IV up their sleeves? Yeah, late 6.0 Gen III have the same cam bearings journals as the Gen IV, as well as the Gen IV connecting rods. That 2004 LQ4 engine I bought had the Gen IV...

Features deleted by GM (gmt800 life cycle)

I think they carried it over a bit later on certain 6.0s? Not sure if it was engine or model-specific. I once bought this LQ9 engine that was 2004 and it still had the EGR (with a DBW set-up).

Return style fuel system on a 2005

Yes. I think in this or another forum (maybe performancetrucks.net?) it was discussed that you could swap to a return style setup, the whole system. For high performance applications, the return style is supposed to be better, I can't remember why at the moment. You'd also regain the fuel...

    Greetings! Newbie here.

There's a guy on performancetruck.net that has this 8 lug Tahoe: He did a 14 bolt 8 lug rear end swap. I can't remember if it was SAS-swapped? And I believe a twin turbo 5.3...

    Greetings! Newbie here.

To be fair, a lot of people can't tell them apart. Last inspection i took my Suburban 2500 to, the guy there asked me if it was a Tahoe...

    Greetings! Newbie here.

Oh, wow. I don't believe they made QS on short wheelbase SUVs, did they? I think it was only on the 2500 Suburbans on the SUVs?

    Places to buy new hardware

Probably junkyard for replacing with OEM? Or maybe car-part.com or ebay? Most everything is metric, so your typical big box orange boxes have limited metric stuff. I have bought transmission pan metric bolts from the old local mom-n-pop hardware store near me though. For generic larger...

    Another New Guy

My 2000 K3500 pickup (regular 8 lug) has towing capacities listed on the owner's manual for the C-3500HD, but I don't remember seeing anything else on there specific to the 10 lug version? The engine, transmission and cab are basically GMT400. The frame and axles are different. That's about as...

    Greetings! Newbie here.

Agreed! He's got some skills and his builds are awesome. I think watching that video my brain was telling me: "Your next 'new' truck is gonna be another GMT800!" :)

    Another New Guy

Sounds like you bought a 10 lug C-3500HD? Those were based on the GMT400 mostly. Can you post a photo of your rig? The manual transmission a NV4500... Or are you asking about OWNER'S manual? Well, at least you didn't called "manuel."
