My new to me 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 ext cab

Stutaeng's 1999 Silverado
Finally did that leveling job and bought a pallet of flooring, and did a landfill trip. I applied a tiny bit of black rtv to the windshield trim, applied to masking tape to hold it in place and let it cure. Confirmed fluttering noise is gone. And I washed the old truck. I'm at like 273k now...- stutaeng

Clearance question 2000’ sierra
I have lift spindles on my 99 Silverado 2wd, i think they are 2 1/2, maybe 3"? I don't remember; I've had them since like 2014. Maybe they are Rough Country? Help with Bell Housing Bolts
Good post. Yes a super long extension is a must to remove those top bellhousing bolts. I have a 3/8" and 1/2", I think 36" or 30" maybe? I find the little gas lines and transmission dipstick brackets actually more difficult to remove and replace. Those have a smaller, I think 13 mm size nut that... -

Yeah, as @AuroraGirl asked, what codes do you have? On the ABS (EBCM) module, many folks have successful simply opened it up and reflowing the solder on them. There's YT videos showing how to do it. Nice! Yeah, cabin filters were only on the 00-02 models. I thought there was an aftermarket kit to add it though? I can't recall? Is that truck a 4x4? If so, maybe a transfer case fluid replacement is a good idea? Same for the differential(s)?- stutaeng

MBRP exhaust on a 99 silverado?
I don't know the answer, but welcome to the forum from another 99 Silverado owner. Doesn't your truck have the Y-shaped exhaust that connects to the exhaust manifolds as a single piece? Then that connects to the resonator, IIRC? That's how it is on my 99. Not sure how the cateye are routed. I...- stutaeng

Nice! Is your truck the Vortec Max by any chance? There were a few 1500 2wd that did have the front torsion bar front suspension: VortecMax, Silverado SS and Intimidator SS, IIRC. But the regular 1500 2wd were steering rack AFAIK. Somewhere in there is where they introduced the 14 bolt 6 lug AXN...- stutaeng

Looking good! You are still planning on painting your frame, right? Not sure if you removed the harness off the truck, but all you have to do is remove it from the transmission and O2 sensors. The only trick is to heat the NSS switch connector gently with a heat gun because they use some sort...- stutaeng

Good points @Cadillacmak on the lack of qualified technicians, dealerships being "parts changers" and overly complicated, overpriced and unnecessary technology on the newer vehicles. New vehicles requiring bumper removal to replace the headlight bulbs is kinda comical compared to our generation...- stutaeng
