    Intro from rural Missouri

Welcome to the forum! I see the rockers are toast. How bad is the frame?

99-02 steering wheel swap for audio controls

It's funny that I installed a double din in my '06 and didn't bother with the module for steering controls. I did use the Axxess module to talk to the network for the door dinger, lighting, etc. I would highly recommend the Axxess unit, in addition to buying it from Crutchfield. Their wiring...

    Good brake and rotor kits

I too, have nothing but positive things to say about PowerStop. Just ordered a Z26 set for my Camaro.

    99 1500 4.8 oil separator options

I know I'm late to the party, but I run the Evil Energy can on my nitrous SBC. Ring gap is on the big side, so I run the can.

    HVAC Mode Door Replacement

Welcome to the forum. Glad you got something figured out before you cut into it. HVAC doors suck. A lot.

    Front Impact Sensor

First, welcome to the forum! Second, RockAuto lists them as different part numbers. Looks like they're keyed differently, too.

New '06 LBZ owner. Could use some input on mods/upgrades/common issues.

Welcome to the forum. Helluva truck. I'm not sure how many diesel guys we have lurking about, but I'm a fan of EGR deletes and good breathers. I believe it's better for an engine to not re-ingest it's own gas, but I'm not an engineer. Not sure what a re-route of the breather on a LBZ entails...

    1999 1500 RCLB 2WD Rear Brake Issues

I hadn't heard that one before. Jeebus. Yet another reason to check those "rebuilds".

    Upgraded Transmission/oil lines?

I've made gobs of AN lines and several hydroboost lines. Some AN "secrets": Lube every fitting when you assemble it, every time. When you fit the collar to the line before you assemble the fitting, the collars are threaded BACKWARDS. I use a socket in my drill driver to spin the fittings on in...

    Engine hours meter reset question

I believe the hours ARE stored in the cluster, but are in volatile memory like fuel mileage is. My truck has fewer hours shown than physically possible.

Hard To Find or Discontinued Parts?

Welcome from Phoenix. Generally everything is pretty easy to get. The only thing I haven't found an replacement for is the ash tray retaining clip. Everything else I've been able to source.

Electric Radiator Fans Randomly Turning On When Ignition Is Off

All the markings I noted might be visible in place. Just a matter of doing the right yoga. With an $80 OBD scanner https://obdxpro.com/product/obdx-pro-vx-obd2-diagnostics-and-tuning/ and a little computer usage, it would be easy to copy your tune to a new PCM.

Electric Radiator Fans Randomly Turning On When Ignition Is Off

Not sure how I missed that. To get the pin out of the harness plug, the back of the connector comes off and you pull the front colored plastic part. You'll see a small retaining tab holding the pin in. Pops right out. The 8th digit of the vin will tell you what engine it had originally...

New member. Thanks for letting me join.

Welcome aboard! They didn't make a bench for the GMT800 front seats. The closes was the 40/20/40 "split bench" which is just two buckets with a jump seat in the middle. I have those in my Tahoe and love them. If you have the buckets with the console, I believe you can get just the center jump...

    1999 1500 RCLB 2WD Rear Brake Issues

Unless you step all the way up to a new caliper, rebuilds are hit and miss. I'd get the cheap rebuilt ones locally and give them a good check in the store before I left. Bring a few tools with you to remove the pins and check the bushing bores. Check where the banjo goes. Check the outer seal to...
