From Bronco to Burb - new to me 2002 Z71 Suburban

As far as early and late GMT800 SUVs, I prefer the later ones because of the L59. It's the flexfuel model, but doesn't have a flex fuel sensor. Bigger injectors, steel fuel rails, doesn't care what gas you put in it. The SUVs are also non-CAN. I like the lower level of tech. Everything else is...

From Bronco to Burb - new to me 2002 Z71 Suburban

Welcome! I love Suburbans. Nearly bought a GMT800 one myself before I got my Tahoe. I do have a '78 burb. Welcome to the club!

    Lesson learned - GMT900 Regret, GMT800 Reset

Here’s the cup holder addition I bought from @all4oldchevys. Best $45 I’ve spent in quite some time.

My new to me 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 ext cab

Welcome! That truck looks darn solid. Nice score! Like you noted, the little issues look easily fixable.

Welcome aboard! Glad you found us. I've purchased a couple of your gizmos. Hopefully my cupholder will be delivered tomorrow so I can show the good people.

    Odd noise from behind dash

I developed a strange buzz at just a certain rpm. It was the change in my ashtray.

Those seats are good for a number of conversions. I'm sure you'll be able to sell the back seats.

Is there a way to remove the oil filter w/o spilling oil?

A QuikTrip cup. Place over filter firmly. Spin off filter half the way. Let drain into cup for a few minutes while you hold it. Finish removal. Spin on new filter.

Both turn signals come on with Left Signal- replace multi-function switch and still have the issue

First, welcome to the forum! The only LED turn signals that you should use are ones with rectifiers (often listed as non polarity specific) and load resistors. If the light is missing either of those, it can cause all sorts of weird issues.

    Command start killing battery?

And it's neat. But $200 is also a little steep IMO for that. I'd rather not run an unknown level of current through the DLC either.

    Command start killing battery?

All you need to locate parasitic draw is a multimeter that does amps, a couple gator clip leads, and some pliers for pulling fuses.

    Command start killing battery?

This is not uncommon. Lots of remote starts cause heavy battery draw. I wouldn't say it's "normal", because they shouldn't do that.

    The Duct Tape Camaro

Got a new helmet on clearance for forced air. Should help keep me cooler. Got the driver's side mounted and fitted. Car is done except for new snubbers for the slappers. Going from a 26x9.25 to a 28x10.5 might not seem like a lot on paper, but it looks awesome.

I wonder if it has something to do with picking up O'Reilly as a sponsor. A two day spectator ticket for less than $50 is a pretty good price though, IMO.

2003 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L Coolant Pouring out at the back of the engine

I've never known a head gasket to leak like that. With that much water, my first thought is freeze plug. I suppose it could be steam port related, but I'd think you'd see that from the top.

    The Duct Tape Camaro

Yup. The Battle of the Beaters is on the 18th. Participants camping can show up Thursday and leave Sunday morning. The 17th is open test and tune, and the car show is both the 17th and 18th. It's a ton of fun. This will be my 4th year going, 3rd year racing. Edit: There's a few more spots for...

@Marky Dissod I was going to drop a set of GMT800 seats in my '78 'burb. Too much work, but I did learn that there's at least 3 variants of the 40/20/40. The center 20% is available in a fixed upright back, arm rest, or arm rest with storage. They all use the outer 40% seat bolts and next...
