    the 4.3 caprice has a 262 cubic inch v8 not the v6 The engine had 200 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 240 lb.-ft. torque at 2400 rpm. not a screamer but respectible , probably fuel efficient. far cry from the 260 gas/diesel oldsmobile with 110 hp at most or like 85-90 hp for the diesel!!!

    the minor height difference is going to probably be why you had rubbing concerns , so if it ends up not being too bad, one could minor minor lift the body or drop the tire size when its time to put new tires on. good to know it was close in size
