GMT900 upgrade with 17” OEM snowflake wheels?

If you've a GMT800, with 17" wheels from a GMT800 or younger, order and replace your present brake kit with: 2010 Caliper Brackets, 2010 Calipers, 2010 Rotors, & 2010 pads. You may reuse or order new GMT800 brake lines to attach to the 2010 calipers. That's it, Bob's your uncle, off ya go. You...

GMT900 upgrade with 17” OEM snowflake wheels?

No, that's the GMTT1xx front brake update-upgrade. You confused yself. GMTT1xx 4-piston-caliper update-upgrade tends to need 2019 or later wheels; very few 'older' GM wheels work without removing excess caliper casting material. It also requires washers to center the caliper on the rotor for...

Partial List of Front Torsion Bars

Combining your notes with mine above, it LOOKS like the suvs were 'meant' by GM OE to use 'XK', 'XL', or 'XM' torsion bars. If that's truly the case, I've learned something sad - 'cause I'd hoped to consider the 'WX', 'GF', or 'YH' bars - but at least I've learned something.

GM also typically resorts to aftermarket support for parts over 10yrs old (including what passes for 'GM OE'). Still need length measurements for GM torsion bars, because I want/need to know if I can use any of the torsion bars I typically find belonging to GMT800 pickups under my Tahoe.

    Torsion Bar Ride Quality

Not trying to make an unpleasant argument, trying to understand - this actually seems like a good hypothesis to test. What's the difference in GVWR of a civilian 3.73 Tahoe, vs a Tahoe-PPV? Why do Z60 Silverados get such stiffer torsion bars (instead of, say, much stiffer swaybars)? I think...

    Best suspension opinions

My Tahoe wears Bilstein 4600. It's entirely possible to admire and yet at the same time not like a pair of shocks. Absolutely should've gone with Bilstein 5100 (0.0" lift) or stiffer. These 4600 are not stiff enough for my taste. Were I you, I'd err on 'slightly stiffer'; definitely what I...

Dealership? What's a dealership? Kidding, I just prefer ANY ... ANY parts source over a dealership whenever humanly possible. Last time a dealership asked me for a VIN, came prepared with a VIN for a 2010 Tahoe PPV for my front brake kit update-upgrade, but when he quoted the prices, went to...

    Torsion Bar Ride Quality

GMT800 pickups use torsion bars that are MUCH stiffer than the Tahoe PPV / Suburban Z71 4WD torsion bars. 2. '05-'06 pair of electrical fans instead of a big mechanical propeller; this also requires a pcm tune Can't get tuned right away? just so happens that there's enough room for the propeller and the pair of electrical fans for them to coexist peacefully. Looks weird but works just fine til you...

    1. Lie to the parts counter person, say it's a 2010-2018 Suburban, ask for 2010-2018 Front Caliper Brackets 2010-2018 Front Calipers 2010-2018 Front Rotors 2010-2018 Front Pads reuse, or order new '04 brake hoses, they screw-in like they were made for each other.

    Lower valence panel

Bumper itself is pretty much the same, but GM added a lil extra lower lip in '05 to improve highway MpG by 1. ONE.

Electric Radiator Fans Randomly Turning On When Ignition Is Off

Meaning that a previous owner did so. Guess I'm wondering how it was done, and why? But I'm very grateful for their presence.

    Fuel Composition Pid

Since these are pre-cat O2 sensor codes, 1st guess'd be to change the front O2 sensors 2nd guess'd be to change the fuel composition sensor. Bet that others will chime in with better guesses.

    Transmission hot

Letting the ATF stay at or over 265F, for an entire full day, before going into Hot Mode? I set that to 230F with a delay of 3min in my tune.

Do I need a different tune after doing new exhaust?

If the exhaust system improves SCAVENGING ('back pressure'? In 2026, people still say 'back pressure'?) improves SCAVENGING at or under 3000RpM - if it improves part-throttle Volumetric Efficiency - then yes, a tune based off of realtime driving data would be advised. Long story short, if MpGs...
