    2WD “Performance” Suspension package

If you want cheaper 'performance' sway bar kits, think you need GMT921-PPV swaybars or GMT931-2500 swaybars. Definitely simpler going with Helwig.

    2WD “Performance” Suspension package

2WD GMT800 pickup trucks are rack & pinion? Just learned something. Changing to tubular control arms is either to increase durability/longevity, or to lose a bit of weight and improve handling, or both. Lighter is better, but they better at least be more rigid. My Z71 has Bilstein 4600s. They...

    Keep driving your GMT800s?

Not rhetorical, trick - if you prefer a new one over a GMT800, why are you still here? ...

    Keep driving your GMT800s?

Which would you prefer: a brand new GMTT1xx 2026 to 175,000 miles? or a GMT800 with 175,000 miles to see how far you can take it? Personally, I won't go past GMT900, and that'll be awhile ...

I’m having an issue with my transmission when starting the truck.

Tried typing @NickTransmissions, but that doesn't work here. Meanwhile I'll suggest draining & replacing some ATF.

    Heater Blower Recommendation & Warnings?

ACDelco parts for brand new vehicles are not the same as ACDelco replacement parts for a vehicle inside its warranty. ACDelco parts for vehicles inside warranty are not the same as ACDelco parts for vehicles outside warranty but under 10 years old. ACDelco parts for vehicles outside warranty but...

    GMT800 SUV

Just occurred to me: How many L87s would not have needed replacement if their OIL PANS had had the swarf cleaned out of them at 500 miles?

    FW_Z71Burb's 2002 Suburban Z71

There's a time and a place for everything. If you don't like to slide at all, you're too old. Pick the right time and place, scare your grandkids; give them stories to tell about how their grandparents knew how to do fun awesome stuff with older vehicles that the new vehicles won't allow without...

    FW_Z71Burb's 2002 Suburban Z71

Small easily manageable slides are good practice, especially to understand the difference between 2WD & 4WD. Medium slides are showing off. Large lurid slides are ... just don't break anything, ok?

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

Not sure about the GMT800 '05-'06 fans, but there are GMT900 electrical fan motors that work well as upgrades in conjunction with a GMT900-KW1 alternator.

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

Yes the pair of electric fans takes the place of the mechanical clutch fan. They are powered by an electrical fan harness. Hopefully you're not thinking 'this is some krabpy aftermarket horseschidt' - think of it as updating your radiator cooling package to 2005 / 2006 GM OE. It's worth 5-10...

Just asking, why not convert to a pair of electrical fans? You're getting the pcm tuned anyway.

Partial List of Front Torsion Bars

, suv bars are 52" long, and pickup truck bars are 54" long? I'd LOVE to see this in person to confirm, but NYC junkyards are few & far between. That's closer than I thought it would be, though ...

    Better reverse lighting ...

I'm not trying to reengineer the wheel ... at this time ... but please keep the ideas coming, someone else might benefit as well. For now this seems like the idea. Thanks to you all.

    Better reverse lighting ...

Backup camera is a good idea too, bu they don't work that well in the dark, and I want to scare people away with lights when backing up ... which makes me think a noisier back-up option is a good idea - not that I ALWAYS want the noise, but a noise OPTION never hurts. Auxiliary backup bulbs in...

    Better reverse lighting ...

Before I even think about additional auxiliary back-up lighting, first let me ask: Is anyone significantly impressed / pleasantly surprised by how bright their 3157 back-up light bulbs are? Would anyone mind recommending me their unusually bright 3157 back-up light bulbs, so I can make...

    2003 6.0 2500 burban. With knock.

If you don't find out why, then I guess you like it well enough, eh? If you really don't like it, gotta find out: Is that in fact an accurate reading? More than one place to check oil pressure. If you get a higher reading, the GM OE oil pressure sender has its own issue. Just before you're about...
