What is this part?
I believe that's an auxiliary electric vacuum pump for the brake booster. It's connected to engine vacuum and then to the booster, right? I've never seen one in person but that's what it looks like to me. Our 06's don't have that. So.. whether it can be simply removed, dunno. Richard- someotherguy

New to GMT800
Can you get some clear pics of the melted shaft end? I haven't done any real work on the interior side of the A/C on a GMT800 yet (other than the blower motor resistor module, twice now...) so I'm a bit unfamiliar with the setup. Also need to fix the recirculate on my truck but from what I've...- someotherguy

New to GMT800
Howdy Vince, welcome from another GMT400'er ;) The redesigned (many times) intermediate steering shaft and lower column bearing should cure the clunk, and the A/C service ports are fairly simple to replace. I did the service ports on my '06 recently as they showed signs of slight leakage...- someotherguy

I think it's usually in a pull-down list similar to how they indicate whether you're getting regular stock or close-out items. It was a little confusing to me because I saw that and selected it from the pull-down and the part # didn't change. At any rate, I got these in, and they look good...- someotherguy

OK, what we're missing from the picture is the tax. $7.08 for me which is where the difference came in. Oh, also you got different part #'s - there's a couple buck difference for the CAPA certified ones, and different part #'s too - 20638690, 20638590 Richard- someotherguy

08-18-2021 Truck wouldn't start, sounded like low battery. It's got a whole bunch of fairly recent good quality parts in the starting/charging system, so it's kind of a bummer it won't start. 11-22-2019 driver front wheel bearing going out, ordered an AC Delco replacement and swapped it. Had been driving my 300 in the meantime. 12-08-2018 picked up some OEM Silverado foglamps and switch since the SS has the harness already in place, figured it'd be a simple upgrade. Had to make some brackets to get them positioned behind the brake ducts, though. Just used some flat stock from the box store and made mock-up patterns...- someotherguy

06-06-2018 the "GM Genuine" headlights I bought just a year ago are already peeling on the clearcoat. The driver side pictured here is a warranty unit that I had swapped out because when I tried to adjust the previous one, the head on the adjuster screw shattered.
