    Oil Filter differences

The two oil filters in your image are AC Delco models: the PF64 (GM part #25206966) on the left and the PF48 (GM part #12737086) on the right. While they appear visually identical in terms of external size, shape, threads (both use 22mm threads), and canister design—which is why they're often...

    Oil Filter differences

I'm about to do some significant mods to my 6.0L engine and ordered break in oil and a few ACDELCO oil filters. When they came in, I was kinda surprised that they were the same size as my daughter's Buick regal oil filter. In the picture the buick's filter is on the left and the silverado on the...

Cig lighter and DLC off with key mod

You're welcome. Pretty simple to do. Just need an inline fuse and some of the terminal ends. Careful you don't short out the pins. Happened to me and blew a fuse on the driver's fuse box.

Cig lighter and DLC off with key mod

So i did something similar to this. But it leaves the cigarette lighter hot but makes the Aux power keyed. Worked out good for me. I just did what was in this video. Im not sure if it works on all years, But it worked for my 2001 2500HD.

    Upgraded Transmission/oil lines?

awesome. Thanks for the input! Looking at what i need to do with the engine and fenders stripped down makes thing simpler. Looks fairly simple to do. Once i put it back together i will report back

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

Today, I pulled out my dual exhaust setup and headers. I bought speed-engineering 1 7/8" headers, y pipe, and exhaust system. It showed up today after a week delay from Texas "snowmageddan 2.0". I also ordered a cherry picker and engine stand so I pull the engine to clean and inspect everything...

    Upgraded Transmission/oil lines?

I was working on taking out the transmission bolts from the engine and looked at the way the lines are routed for the transmission and oil lines. Looks super easy to do, provided I have the right size fittings for everything. ICT BILLET makes an adapter plate for the oil port on the driver side...

    Upgraded Transmission/oil lines?

Has anyone upgraded the transmission and oil lines from the hard rigid quick connect to a braided line with AN fittings? I want to get rid of all the C-clip connections and install AN fittings on the radiator, and oil cooler and then get measurements for the correct hose lengths and then get...

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

I also decided to just pull the motor to replace the rear seal and oil pan gasket. My plan is to only inspect the bottom-end if I can help it. The pistons and cylinders looked okay during a quick look when taking the heads off. Anyways, after this winter weather passes I'll be working on...

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

So haven't done much to the truck. I took the heads off to give as cores for the 799 heads. The heads were remanufactured and milled. They look excellent. I also sourced a fender and tailgate same color as my truck. I want to find a new bed but these darn truck beds are the FIRST thing to go...

No I know the juice would be worth the squeeze. My hold up is I have all new parts for the mechanical fan including new shrouds. I don't mind the mechanical fan. Yeah some added HP and more bay clearance, but I don't mind. Not like I can't change my mind later. Seems an easy enough install.

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

The only hang up ive had so far is removing the dang AC compressor. I can remove 3 out of the 4 bolts. The last bolt is directly behind the engine mounting bolt. I didnt mess with it too long, since i had friends coming over soon. I will have to look at it some more and deal with it next week as...

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

Well i had a few hours to kill before some friends came over for a crab boil, so i decided last night i would just remove the hood and fenders to make thing simpler if a problem comes up. I was worried about a broken header bolt and having to drill it out. From there I moved all the wiring and...

Where do you pick up the power to turn them on? This takes place of the OE fan? I will have to look into this a bit further. I know its been done many times over. Id rather it turn on itself, so one less thing for me to remember. I appreciate the info and the offer to sell the e-fans. If i...

Honestly haven't thought about. I did read about people doing that. Just not sure how effective they are for a 6.0L doing some occasional towing. This is supposed to take place of the fan?

    Miklo's 2001 Silverado 2500HD Build Thread

Today I called in sick to work to hunt for some hog in the morning. Got home around noon, After a quick lunch i had about 2.5 hrs to kill. So I used the time to tear down the engine bay. I previously disconnected and drained the radiator. So that saved me a bit more time. I tore out the bumper...
