Help with Bell Housing Bolts
Thanks for the tip. If I have transmission problems, this will help. If I do, I'll probably get a Stage 1 from RPM Transmissions, who are in my town. They have a great reputation for being solid, and the price is about what it would cost from a shop. -
2nd Gear Starts - Random
We had a S-10 (4-Cyl, 5-Spd) and the bed-liner had provisions for putting a 2x4 across, behind the wheel wells. We used to put two decent-sized bags of sand (~50 Lbs each) in that spot and it helped greatly; you probably would not want to do that on a Camaro.- JorgeS

Interesting... pre-electronic transmissions, especially RWD vehicles, this was something one did to try to keep from spinning the wheels. Several of my vehicles had this ability. Thanks for sharing!- JorgeS

That's weird... I doesn't feel like it's normal. If it was, it would stay in 2nd gear (or whatever gear it starts in). It certainly feels like an anomaly.- JorgeS

It's never "acted.up" in a spirited start, so.the jump isn't very harsh. Each time it's done it has been on a gentler start, last time my wife was driving and she's typically much gentler than me. Having said all that, kind of like you describe, feels like a downshift.- JorgeS

Engine hours meter reset question
I think there's just a bug that goes active for some reason, and it resets at, seemingly, random times. Oil Filter differences
Interesting details;wonder why the difference in pressure before the bypass opens. I've been using the K&N oil filters for some time. After I had issues (not on my Yukon) getting the filters out, and had to resort to extreme measures, I decided the extra few dollars for the K&N nut was worth it...- JorgeS

Bosch Alternator Good Buy
Little details on that: "P" stands for "phase". The P terminal is connected to one of the stator phases, upstream of the rectifier; this is why you get an AC signal. It was used by older diesels (that didn't have engine computers) to run the tachometer.- JorgeS

I had a 1999 Accord. Parking brake cable sheath cracked, allowing water in the cable, and it froze. I bought a replacement at Advance Auto; the sheath cracked as I was installing it - I returned it.
