If you are gonna do that Wolff steering column bearing, while you are that deep in there, do yourself a favor and do the brake pedal pivot bushing and a new stop light switch.- ORVietVet

Undercarriage Input
Yea, like @Marky Dissod said, that bushing looks funky. May need to just replace all the bed mount bushings. Get some heat ready for the procedure or at least spray penetrant on the bolts 2-3 times a day for a few days before you do the work.- ORVietVet

2000 K1500 5.3 Fuel Pump Replacement
Fuel pressure bleed off when sitting long enough. Try letting sit overnight and then, in the morning, turn key to run position but do not crank engine. Let it sit in run position and then crank and start. If always starts, you likely do have a leaking injector, like @stutaeng said or bleed down...- ORVietVet

Truck wants to start on the first ignition turn 5.3
There is actually 2 stages before you crank the engine and are turning against the spring load. The second step would be accessory. The first step just unlocks the steering wheel. Are you saying the dash lights up and the engine cranks, when you move the key from the lock position? @Lukas...- ORVietVet

Dropped off the 2 piece driveline this morning at 8 a.m. They called me an hour later and said was done. By 10:45, had the drivelines home and installed and road tested. -

Ongoing 2 piece driveshaft problems on a neighbors 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab 5.7 gas engine. Not to long ago the carrier bearing came completely apart but the shop that did that work did not look too close at the u-joints. The center joint is trashed. Makes sense since that is the one... -

Welcome to the forum, from Oregon. Ignition switch in column. Very easy to get to and replace. In the future, please supply all truck info. There are a lot of 5.3 engines in a lot of "trucks".- ORVietVet
