It is really just people's opinions. I like Bilstein or KYB. Had Bilstein's before and now run KYB on my Tahoe. I will use KYB again. The Bilstein shock is great too. By the way, I have never ever seen a shock advertised as light duty or standard duty. Marketing dictates that they are at least...- ORVietVet

In my experience the SUVs are always much better kept and serviced than the pickups in general. A lot of pickups wind up getting used hauling stuff, or work trucks. SUVs are normally family haulers so folks stay more on top of maintenance. Pickups (especially the 1500 short bed) are also... -

My 2005 Tahoe Z71 has 176k miles on it, owned it now for 6 years. I did a transmission fluid and filter service when I bought it at 135k miles. It still has pretty fluid and stays full. I will be doing another service very soon. I was worried about a rebuild around 150k miles, like is the norm... -

I don't know where, in the Willamette Valley, you are but there are plenty of no rust GMT800 1500 4x4's in the area that maybe the GPA would like. Less miles too. They are all over CL and FB. -

I agree and I have preached for years that people should have a savings account for vehicle maintenance and repairs, instead of buying, IMO, rip off extended warranties. But no, the vehicle owner will eat out too much, buy Starbucks every day, drink alcohol regularly and buy smokes and drugs...
