Curious, did you give it a turn either direction and at various points in that motion, give it a shove side to side? That's what it took for me to notice the wear on the 7.4 I put in the HD. This is a good watch for our GMT800 trucks
Man, he really got in depth with the theory at one point and it was a great watch - I usually can't pay attention through longer videos with most guys that just babble around and have poor presentation. He's different, by far. It's great to see someone use the information you can get from OBD2...- someotherguy

At 275K if that's the original distributor, it's almost guaranteed to be worn out. When you pull the cap off next time, try turning the rotor either direction and simultaneously give it a gentle shove side to side as the rotor pops up. What is this part?
We solved the mystery over on gmt400.com ;) it's an electric vacuum pump that is inline between the engine and brake booster. Not sure what all applications got it; our '06 SS's didn't have them. Richard- someotherguy

The wife's SS has the stock (SS-specific) oval tip at the passenger bed corner, and my now-gone Intimidator SS got the Corsa Sport setup with the rolled stainless round twin tip in the same location. Looked/sounded good but I'm kind of a sucker for symmetry so the one-side exhaust thing always...- someotherguy

Gauge cluster replacement...no sure where to post.
VFD - vacuum flourescent on those displays. The color is partially the display technology, but I'm pretty sure the plastic window over it is tinted blue, as well. Richard- someotherguy

They're not LED's stock. The only LED's in the dash, stock, are the indicator lights in the gauge cluster. All the general illumination are small incandescent bulbs. Some of them depending on location have a small blue sleeve over the bulb that doesn't really give it a blue appearance, just a...- someotherguy

Driver's seat removal
It's no biggie. You'll have some trim pieces that will need to come off to access the bracket-to-floor bolts. On my '06 these were simply snapped over the top of them; I used a door panel trim tool to gently lift them off. And yes, there will be harnesses to disconnect if your seats are...- someotherguy

Spindle swap
I've got no experience with that swap, don't know anything about it - but finding the dimensional difference is gonna give you the answer. If all you swapped was the spindle and now the tie rod is too short, sounds like the tie rod boss on the spindle is farther away than the original part...- someotherguy

Correct, from what I've read the trucks that don't have the cluster with the transmission temperature, putting a cluster w/that gauge is a drop-in deal. Richard- someotherguy

I did all the steppers and bulbs in my 2006 cluster. Also did the bulbs in the dual zone/automatic ("digital") A/C panel, and the steering wheel buttons. IIRC the digital A/C panel has two different types of bulbs in it, 12V and 6V The whole reason for this job is my fuel gauge stepper went...- someotherguy

I need something like this for my 400's. There's just no sitting the phone on the seat and being able to quickly glance at Waze, which I use frequently as my trip takes varying paths depending on how stupid traffic is in given choke points along the way.
