    Truck gear and supplies

Here is something else I'm working on as far as truck supplies goes. It's not finished yet and plan on making one almost identical for the Tahoe.

    Your work area & tools!

I need to get an updated picture. I switched jobs to a smaller, but less stressful shop. I'm ordering a new Blue Point roll cart monday, so I'll probably wait until then before I get an updated picture(s).

    Project BOV

Updated both modification lists. Just a quick update. I haven't had a chance to do a whole lot to the Tahoe because I was working on getting my truck back on the road, but I have done a little tinkering with the Tahoe. I noticed the front of my truck was about 2" lower than the rear so I...

    Project Z-71

Some night pictures I took of the truck on New Years. I'm also working on a little re-organizing for the roadside repair bag. I plan on doing one for the Tahoe too.

    Project Z-71

Edited both modification lists in first post. So it's been a while since I've updated this build. The post before the last has pictures of the idler arm bracket that came undone from the frame. So it sat for a couple months until I had a chance to get it to the shop. My 6-7 year old Optima...

    Project Z-71

Goat, I'm still running factory gears, 3.73s I think? I'm not sure, next time I drive it I plan on resetting the trip meter and finding out atleast down to a quarter tank. I do know I'm getting around 10 mpg depending on how I drive.

3 inch body lifts who's done them ?

I have. Did the 3" Performance Accessories body lift on my 01' Silverado 1500 Z-71. I still have the direction booklet and if wanted I can type some of it up. If possible I'd save up a little extra and get a good suspension lift. If I was to do it all over again with my truck I would've...

    Trans service....

The way they did it at the dealership I used to work at is the disconnected one of the transmission cooler lines, wherever was easiest to disconnect from, basically connect the machine between the two lines using hoses and fittings, one tank on the machine is new fluid with additive and the...

    Trans service....

I don't recommend doing transmission flushes either. I always recommend a pan drop and filter change. I do mine about every 30k miles.

    Previous rides

My first truck. It was nice at first, but needed more room and more power. It was a 4.3L V6. Sold it and picked up my current 01' Chevy Silverado 1500 Z-71. Then I picked up this Jeep Wrangler. Shouldn't have ever sold it!

    Project Z-71

    - Edited first post. Just a small update with the truck. Hopefully getting the frame/steering bracket welded soon now that things have finally calmed down a little bit. My battery was starting slow so I pulled my Optima Yellow Top out to charge it and after charging for two hours on slow charge...

    Project BOV

The only real update I have right now was a change in plans/modifications. (Edited first post too) Between working my mon-fri 12 hour work days and then factor in all the Florida rain, I can't get a chance to do any painting. As far as my new plans go, the other day I was doing some short...

    Bonecollector's 2005 GMC Sierra

So I just went through all 18 pages and have to say your truck looks awesome! Perfect stance and all. Will definitely be checking back for updates.

    Battery Recommendations

I currently have an Optima yellow top (about 6-7 years old), that I have a feeling is on its last leg so before it goes completely dead, I want to find a good battery. It has to have side and top posts due to modifications. I also plan on getting another identical battery down the road when I...

    Project Z-71

Thanks MYT HI! I called several off-road shops around me and the one I'm taking it to said they've seen this before so we shall see. Hopefully I can get it fixed here soon. I'll probably order some new ones from Rock Auto and then possibly do a light tint to them.

    Your work area & tools!

Yeah, I just left the dealership in the photos above and went to an independent shop closer to the house. So far so good! Now slowly collecting more tools. Yeah, take some pictures next time your around them. I love looking at everyones toolbox, tools and seeing how they have everything...

    Truck gear and supplies

I'd like to get a couple Rotopax fuel tanks. They'd be perfect when traveling. Anyone else?

    Project BOV

Kkirwan71, It's not bad at all. Definitely a two person job though. I basically went by how these guys did theirs and it worked perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0BEK4AzDmw I used the fishing string just like they did. I didn't have a heat gun so I used a hair dryer on high heat...
