Hello guys, I have a 2000 short box Silverado with the offset transmission crossmember instead of the typical straight crossmember. My question is, what crossmember do I need to use or buy to swap in my 4l80e transmission?

On my 99 ECSB 2wd I just cut the cross member and welded some plates to shift the mounts back 6". This is the earlier generation of cross member. A guy on a different forum later told me the little raised tower just had to be flipped on the cross member.
Post a photo of what you have.
You can also just purchase an aftermarket crossmember designed specifically for this swap.

It is a 2wd. Yeah I have had trouble finding aftermarket ones but hey I'll keep looking unless someone on here can point me in the right direction.

I do remember reading that some 1999-2000 models had different mounting brackets for this crossmember on the frame. I don't recall where I read that though.

Here's how I did mine, with the offset dimension:
I used 1/4"x2" flat plate. I just took out the thickness of the plates on the crossmember. You can probably weld some little gussets in there to keep everything square. I hope this helps.

Take some measurements of removing the little mount tower and flipping to the back side of the tube. If that gives you the 6" offset, that may be easier. I didn't know about that and I had already cut my crossmember as shown. I did this based on Lawrence Tolman's swap on the Ugly Truck. His truck has the different crossmember though.
