I’m having a problem, sometimes when I hit my 4 high button it’ll go into auto 4wd and won’t go back into 2 high or 4 high. I have to stop the engine and restart it and it’ll go back into 2 high. I’ve gone through with the scanner and watched the actuator and encoder motor and they work when they get the signal. I’ve replace the switch in the dash with a gm genuine, cleaned the ground on the body mount underneath the drivers door. Not really sure what to do. I’ve checked for wiring/chafing. Didn’t find anything. Please send ideas

First off, welcome to the forum. I hope someone here can help. Not a modern 4WD guru myself.
I'd suspect the actuator motor myself, for no reason other than I've heard of them dying.

Since you can shut it off and everything works well again, I would say it's electrical. Inside the actuator, there's a little reluctor wheel that can go bad.
