Hi, I am new here. I have been a member of gmt400.com for a few years. but I have upgraded (if that's what you want to call it) to an 03 Yukon Denali XL. I have been having some strange trans problems that no one has encountered I and would like to get your insight. (I apologize this is going to be a bit lengthy) I purchased the vehicle just over a year ago knowing it had some issues but I couldn't turn it down for the price. one of the issues was delayed and soft second gear changes (1/2 and 3/2). 2nd eventually started to slip and i ,rather suddenly, lost second all together. 4th had no issues so I assumed the failure was due to worn clutches and stopped driving it as we didn't need it at the time. a few weeks later I needed to go somewhere and decided to drive it again (less than 2 miles) and realized it had stopped shifting all together (only has 1st and revers). what I found stranger is that when the throttle peddle is released completely while moving the trans seems to go into neutral unless put into manual low. so I did some research and found that at least part of, if not all of, the issue could be electronics so I went out to check a thing or two and now the trans locks up when put into revers and has no neutral and engine is loaded in park. and stranger still is when you let of the throttle it still seems to go into neutral. I would really appreciate some input here. I am going to pull the trans in a couple of weeks and rebuild it but I would like it to be a weekend project and not a several week project waiting on parts that were not anticipated. Also I am concerned that there may be parts that are not usable due to damage. I have never messed with the newer GM transmissions so I am not familiar with what parts to replace and which ones are OK to leave. I only know trans basics for sake of this discussion. thank you, Christian
