The ash tray in my '06 Tahoe doesn't stay all the way closed part of the clip that keeps it fully closed is broken. Does anyone know what clip that is? I'll probably have to pull the whole panel out to get the clip out...

Here’s the clip in question.
I contacted the manufacturer of the clip. Custom run. Have to order 1k to make a run. Not doing that. Now to figure something else out.

Thats a good idea, I used magnets to hold on the interior mirror covers and it has worked for almost a year now.
I'm hitting a yard tomorrow morning. We'll see how it goes. LMC is no-go and everything I've seen on eBay is missing the clip.
Well, like @AuroraGirl said, there is always magnets to use.
Got a clip, instantly broke like the original. Looks like magnets may be my only option.

I've used the heavy duty Velcro in similar situations also

Could be a little tricky and take some trial-and-error to come up with a suitable material to make it from, but maybe a workable replica of that clip could be 3D printed?

I could probably print something in ABS. Wouldn't be too hard to design, but the magnets I ordered are supposed to be here today.
