When I was in the Navy and went overseas, I was able to see the Arizona Memorial. It was a very solemn moment yet, also powerful. Never ever forget and keep our Armed Forces strong and ready because there are plenty of "bad actors" out there. The last 4 years we have been seen as weak, very weak. That stops NOW!

I figured this spot was as good as any to post this. We have no members private area.....YET!

I have been to Pearl Harbor three times and to the Arizona Memorial once, I bought my wife a US flag that was flown over the Arizona when were were dating (31 years ago). I make my kids watch Tora Tora Tora every year on 12-7. History is important!

And I agree, it was very solemn. I get an odd feeling when I am in a place where someone has died (even if I don't know they died there) and when I looked down on that ship it was almost overwhelming. I got the same feeling in the Kansas City Hyatt lobby.

I lived in KC, Mo. when The Hyatt happened and I lost 4 friends from that disaster.

When I was a drinker, I used to drink at and work at a bar in the Stockyards area, called "Poor Ol' Sam's" and I met some friends in there that also happened to be at that Tea Dance that night. I was working the bar that night and knew some of my friends were at the Hyatt and then, after it happened, we started to get stragglers come in the bar with news of what was happening.
