I DID manage to catch the damage before it spread. All the lifter rollers were in good shape and the cam was good. </p><p></p><p>Managed to do the work without pulling the manifolds all the way out. Just pulled the manifold to head bolts and there was JUST enough space to wiggle the head bolts out and back in. </p><p></p><p>Back to being a good running truck. Actually runs better than it did before. I expect that the timing and valve lift is back in spec. I bet I was losing nearly 3/16" lift based on the play in the lifters and rockers.</p></blockquote><p></p>
