Hey everyone, I'm new here first of all. And I have a really frustrating issue with my 2004 suburban 2500.

For those who do know know these trucks, they have two fuel tanks and two fuel sending units. The rear pump is called the balance pump and it basically is controlled by the ECU and transfers fuel to the primary tank while staying at the same level with the primary tank.

My issue is that my fuel gauge only shows empty, even after I fill it up. So to resolve it I replaced both pumps and sending units, not cheap.. I did the work my self so that saved a little. I also had the entire cluster rebuilt. Still no dice. After that I read you can reset the system by disconnecting the battery. When I did that the gauge comes back! But only works for a few days at the most before I have to do it again.

This whole thing is nuts. It's a stupid design. I am hoping someone here might have some input to help me find a permanent solution.
