Hey gang -
Planning out some brake work this year and read up this good site for info (found on the Yukon / Tahoe forum)

Does anyone know if the GMT900 brake upgrade fits with the 17” factory snowflake wheels on Z71 Tahoe / Burb? Everywhere I read is either spacers or 18” wheels

I cannot confirm factory 17s, but here is my 04 with GMT900 brakes and aftermarket 17s. Of note, this brake "upgrade" was available on some GMT800s from the factory.

No, that's the GMTT1xx front brake update-upgrade. You confused yself.
GMTT1xx 4-piston-caliper update-upgrade tends to need 2019 or later wheels; very few 'older' GM wheels work without removing excess caliper casting material.
It also requires washers to center the caliper on the rotor for GMT800s or GMT900s.

GMT900 front brake update-upgrade for GMT800 is FAR simpler: 2010 caliper brackets, calipers, rotors, & pads, + 17" GMT800 or GMT900 wheels, reuse brake lines =
DONE.

well that's encouraging... appreciate it Marky, I was probably overstimulated reading through forums and pages late at night.

well, according to O'Reilly, the rear factory rotors are already 13" diameter, where front is 12".
the GMT900 upgrade is going to 13" rotors on front
so if the rear already has 13", front 13" should also fit on the factory wheels...

read that the rear brakes actually do more work on these than front's... so that kinda makes sense they would stick bigger on rear from the factory

either way, with the help of yall and O'reilly, looks like I got her figured out.

If you've a GMT800, with 17" wheels from a GMT800 or younger, order and replace your present brake kit with:
2010 Caliper Brackets, 2010 Calipers, 2010 Rotors, & 2010 pads. You may reuse or order new GMT800 brake lines to attach to the 2010 calipers.

That's it, Bob's your uncle, off ya go. You won't regret it either ...

Glad you got it figured out! Just an FYI, there are two different calipers that use different pads. This is information for the next time you do brakes on the truck. 1092 pads pair with 285/286 calipers. and 1363 pads with 351/352 calipers. Again, just an FYI if you need replacement pads. You can see what I am talking about in this screenshot. Look at the centric part #s 306-1363-0 and 306-1092-0.

As far as the rear brakes, who knows what GM was thinking. I assume lowest bidder. Single piston rear on regular cabs, dual pistons on suburbans. They eventually went to drums on the rear of the GMT900s. I guess that's what we call "progress".

Quote function is misbehaving at the moment ...

To oversimplify the previous post:
By 2010, GM had updated all GMT900 (1500) vehicles' calipers & pads.

This is why I oversimplified it by saying:
2010 Caliper Brackets
2010 Calipers
2010 Rotors
2010 Pads

Appreciate y’all! Pumped to get this work done.
Once you get it done, well, you won't notice much difference so long as you're using the brakes like a normal conservative who plans their braking in advance.
However, should any surprise get past you, and you need to kick the brake pedal instead of just pressing it, you'll suddenly appreciate the difference.
Then you'll start telling anyone who'll listen to just get the upgrade already.

You will be impressed. @Marky Dissod is correct, initial pedal feel is similar to stock. But when you really get in them, brace your forehead for impact.
