I often see posts of people struggling with bell housing bolts, and I find these tools to be helpful:

SUNEX TOOLS 2536T 1/2-Inch Drive by 36-Inch Extension for Transmissions 1/2-Inch Female by 3/8-Inch Male:

3/8" Drive Universal Impact Socket Set, 19 Pieces CR-MO Swivel Socket Set, Metric(8-22mm) Wobble Sockets 6 Point:

Not exactly these brands, except for example.

Good post. Yes a super long extension is a must to remove those top bellhousing bolts. I have a 3/8" and 1/2", I think 36" or 30" maybe? I find the little gas lines and transmission dipstick brackets actually more difficult to remove and replace. Those have a smaller, I think 13 mm size nut that goes over the threaded stud.

You can also remove the intake on the engine and remove them that way. I've done both methods. It really depends what you are doing, like engine removal vs transmission removal.
