What is the proper way to engage the 4hi and 4lo on a 99 z71?

Now what is the proper way to disengage it?

Let me know all the secrets and what Ill feel when doing so!

Push button or shifter? 4 hi can be engaged or disengaged anytime not on dry pavement and stopped or moving at slow speed. 4 lo usually requires you be stopped and in neutral to engage. Going into high you generally won't feel much. Going into low if electronic you may be able to hear the actuator engage.

I always put my truck in neutral before shifting in 4, or atleast for high I wait for the light to stop flashing
