Yeah, I agree with you 100%. I think the GMT800 have started to reach the "nostalgic" status, LOL. Buy them while you can! My youngest brother did an LS swap into his 90 C1500 RCSB a few years ago. He spent a TON of money and time and I helped him out rebuilding a 4L80e for him. Recently he was looking for another truck and was looking at yet another ragged out OBS. I took a look and told him he was basically buying another endless money pit (being honest), and suggested he look into a nice NBS. So he bought a 00 Sierra RCSB and has been telling me how much nicer the Sierra is and enjoys driving it. I think he's going to be selling the OBS at some point (I'm sure at a loss.) I was all hyped into the LS swapped OBS a few years ago when I bought my OBS, but have changed my perspective now that I have owned it for a while: Why buy an older truck and screw around swapping engines, electrical harnesses, trying to make gauges/AC work, headaches, stress, etc, when you can just buy a truck that already had an LS from the factory!? I'm older now too, so more wiser I guess? LOL
