Lately has been harder to swing open and made lots of squeaks. Sprayed in some lithium grease at the hinges and now is quiet and smooth opening.There is a scissor mechanism inside the door. It is pushed to scissor by the gear crank. Dirt and debris build up and whatever grease may be in there will harden up. A good cleaning and lubricate will allow smoother movement.</blockquote>
