Hey guys, my name is Jack I have a 2006 chevy 1500. Great truck although the rust is eating it alive lol Gonna look for a rust free one to replace it. Best damn generation of trucks. Happy to be here and looking forward to helping others. I used to be an auto tech for 10 years before I got smart and got out of it. The pay and benifits were really not worth it much anymore. Have lots of experiance with the gmt800 platform.

Welcome! Always good to have experience on the forum from auto tech/former techs.

Yep, GMT800 are awesome! I've had mine since 2007 :) . I drove my Mom to the airport and she told me how my truck still looks great and how much use and money I've gotten out of it.

Are you going to look for a southern truck?

I think so. It just sucks the nice rust free ones go quick or they want a lot lol. Especially a rust free 4wd.

Welcome from Kentucky. I got my 04 while I was in North Carolina. It was originally a Florida truck. It was rust free while in NC. I’ve been back in Kentucky going on 4 years and it’s starting to show bubbles over the right rear fender well.
