Hi all,
I am a recent convert from GMT400 forum. Had no idea the GMT800 forum was a thing until @ORVietVet enlightened me! Thanks for that!
I have grown up working on the 800 platform as these were cheap and plentiful for my friends and I to wrench on in high-school. I turned all of my friends that would listen towards the GMT800, which meant when problems came I often got the "You told me these things are reliable, what the hell man." I always got roped into helping them, probably out of guilt. I've touched so many of these 800s over the years. I honestly couldn't even guess how many I've worked on. My personal GMT800 is a 2004 sierra 1500 RCSB WT 4x4. MANY mods over the years, so I'll just save that for the build thread. Here's the most recent picture of "The Mail Truck" after I installed a tonneau cover this past summer.
(The broken crankshaft in my profile is from a 302 ford I inherited that lasted a whopping 200 miles under my ownership. Reminds me not to trust a ford as a daily. Also, I'm hard on parts... that's just who I am.)
