I like the look of the newer tail lights (the ones with the protruding circles) are they a direct plug and play?

I do too. I've got to try and trade my old taillights for a passenger side new style though. The one I just put in has a busted lense :(

You could probably just get a replacement set off of rock auto for a decent price

That doesn't sound too bad. How much for the pigtails?

The housing bolts right up. the harness/pigtail is different at the housing. The 03+ tails have a 4th bulb (small wedge 194) in the bottom outer corner. It is a running light and alternates flashing from the main flasher. From what I have seen, the harnesses have doubled in price since I have done mine. Looking at about $50ish a side, which is about what I paid for both at the dealer.

On a side note, I love how they look on my '99 Sierra compared to the old ones.

I'm in love with that truck too.

By chance does anyone have part numbers for the light harnesses? No yards around me have trucks newer than 02

The #s I have are,

016531401 and 016531402.

Not sure if they are still good or not, I bought them back in 2010. And I paid $55.67 total (including tax). Last I heard from a buddy that worked in the parts department at a dealer, they were like 50-55 each. But that also was a couple years ago.
