Puddle lamp help.

Just bought new mirrors and they have puddle lamps and I'd like to wire them up but can't seem to get them to where they shut off with the interior lights. Please help. My truck is a 2002 Silverado 2500hd lt with power and heated mirrors and the new ones have puddle lamps

I would chase the wire down to the bottom of your doors and splice them into the light on the inside at the bottom of your door.

I tried that and they just stay on
