was about to change the rear shocks on my 2500 avalanche when I noticed a hole in the crossmember that the mount is mounted to. This crossmember also supports the rear of the fuel tank. I have checked Safe-T-Cap and Rustbuster for a replacement cross member. They do not have one specifically listed for the avalanche 2500 (or the suburban 2500). Both companies list a crossmember for the 2500 silverado. I called Safe T Cap, and they were no help at all. I mean none. They told me to send a picture of my cross-over to them. The problem is that you can't do that unless you pull the fuel tank down. I called Rustbuster and they did not know...but sent me dimensions for the kit they sell for the 2500 silverado. From the pictures it looks like a possability. The part number they gave me is RB7811 1) Do any of you guys know if the 2500 silverado frame uses the same rear fuel tank support crossmember that is used for the avalanche 2500/suburban 2500? 2) Is there a company out there making rear fuel tank support crossmember replacements for the avalance 2500/suburban 2500 if a specific application is required? 3) Has anyone had their rear tank support crossmember replaced? Thank you, Harry Hild
