What CV Axle Are You Buying?

I went to buy CV axles for our 2001 Yukon XL K1500 5.3l today and all the ones on Rock Auto, Amazon, Auto Zone, and O'reilly's have between 9 to 14% bad reviews. Not seeing any AC Delco ones anywhere. A lot of the reviews were the parts failing in a month or year, some blowing apart when not in 4x4.
Any ideas on quality CV axles? We 4x4 a LOT in Alaska.

I found the GM complete axle assembly for the right side, #26069252. Left side #26069244.

That another odd thing is a lot of aftermarket state the same part number for left and right.

I imagine installing a right where a left belongs (or vice versa) might explain things blowing apart after a season.

pricy but if thats an OEM shaft thats good for a long time

Reminder: Plunge joints dont wear much, thats the inside joint by the axle. The outer CV is what wears. GM sells the CV joint as a stub with the boot , youd just have to regrease or at least seal the boot on the shaft and reassemble. I can get the directions to rebuild it if you want

Loosen the bolts and remove the halfshaft assembly from the tool.
