Added trans temp to cluster and replaced bulbs with LEDs

Maybe I misunderstood... were you able to retain the correct odometer reading?

    Gear ratio

Having had a 2001 Suburban with 4.10 and now a 2005 Yukon with 3.43, I think I agree with you. The Suburban, with ~500 lbs more mass, was way quicker off the line. I think the Yukon will pass vehicles better at speed, probably because it can stay in gear longer, has more HP, and less weight...

    Gear selector display dim

Just re-read my post and realized I'd left some verbiage out...now corrected. Sorry if I caused somw confusion. The resistors don't crack, just the solder at the ends.

    Gear selector display dim

I would try the repair myself before sending it. The repair is VERY easy, and takes little time (probably less than you'll spend boxing it and shipping it). If you have any experience at all with a soldering iron, you can do this. Mine had the issue, and the repair procedure solved it. The issue...

    Lift Vibration Issues

No expert here, but some ideas to help narrow down possibilities, by eliminating potential causes... Raise it on four jack-stands. In 2WD, you should be able to turn each front wheel without anything else rotating. Turn the rear driveshaft, and only the rear wheels should turn. This should help...

    Suburban rear cargo area question

How about a half-used up roll.of paper towels AND the towing drawbar!;)

    Suburban rear cargo area question

For me (before the 2005 Yukon I had an '01 Suburban), it was a perfect place to store my towing drawbar.

    Reupholstering headliner

Nicely done; it looks good. I'm not familiar with "faux alcantara"... what is it? Sort of short fur? It looks like it was stretchy enough to contour properly. What adhesive did you use?

New Badges for Military Service Members, LEO, FireFighters and EMT

Sad but true. This does not reduce what you are doing with these! I'm none of them (although my sons would fit into multiple badges), but have high respect for them and appreciate your effort in recognizing them.

    Gear ratio

The 4.3L V6 was also cheaper: 2 fewer pistons, con-rods, less iron, less steel, etc. and a little lighter. CAFE drove manufacturers to do stupid/crazy stuff to reduce weight and other items. One thing I never understood was how many police Caprices, used by. Iti departments were made with the...

    Gear ratio

Marky, can you explain what a "looser converter" is? When I read the first place you used that term, I though you meant a higher stall-speed converter; then you said that he needs a converter with a higher stall-speed that is not loose - I'm confused!! I'm considering a BTR Truck Norris for my...

    New guy from Germany

Hello from Indiana Niclas. I'm jealous of how clean your truck is - very nice! Just curious why you need a heater for cold starts? Where I live the temperatures get to -21C every year, sometimes as low as -27C (and on rare occasion -31C). I have not had trouble starting. At the low temperatures...

    Autotreffen in Deutschland

Mit Google Translate; Entschuldigung, ich kann kein Deutsch. Ich hatte keine Ahnung, dass es in Deutschland Menschen gab, die amerikanische Autos mochten. Es scheint, dass die Mehrheit sie nicht besonders mag. Using Google Translate. I apologize I don't know German. I had no idea that there...

    Engine hours meter reset question

No PTO, but I've been known to start it and let it run for 20+ minutes at high idle in the winter, when I don't want to take it out to "exercise" it because of salt or ice. I try to run it at least every 6 weeks or less.
