Puddle Lamps Help

I have an 2001 Suburban 1500 LT. I need to find a place (preferably outside of the cabin) to tap into the the puddle lamp circuit. I am going to install eight 0.75" LEDs (four on each side) on the running boards. The eight lamps will draw about 1 amp. Is there a relay or something that...
