I have an 2001 Suburban 1500 LT. I need to find a place (preferably outside of the cabin) to tap into the the puddle lamp circuit. I am going to install eight 0.75" LEDs (four on each side) on the running boards. The eight lamps will draw about 1 amp. Is there a relay or something that controls the puddle lamps?

Also is there a site/download for the wiring diagrams for this truck?

thank you.

I believe all trucks are prewired for puddle lights. Check the mirror plug

What I'm doing....

I used MS Paint to give an idea....

3/4" LEDs mounted in grommets. I found the trigger wire I was looking for under the dash to the left of the steering column in a pack of relays. The trigger will close the relay that I'll use to power these 8 lamps (abotu 2 amps for all) very simple wiring job just had to find the blasted wire for my trigger.

Couple other things that I will be adding; LED light strips on the underside of the hood and in the engine bay, front driving lamps, rear LED back up lamps, putting my winch back on (will be behind the front bumper) a second battery by the passenger firewarll using the factory battery tray.

Have a Happy New Year.
