$77 for a dozen seems a good deal, think baldwin is good?

If you run synthetic oil, IMO use the Wix 51522 XP. I want what I have used, WIX, for over 40 years and never had a problem. The Baldwin filter, sounds like the budget filter but again, I could be completely wrong.

I have that same wix sitting on my shelf for the next oil change. Baldwin's are commercial type, usually like $12 a filter, so I was surprised to see them so cheap, might be leery of that deal, could be counterfeit.

baldwin filter cross reference to hastings Archives - Parker Indonesia
Baldwin Filters (which purchased Hastings Premium Filters in 1995) are primarily manufactured in the United States, with major production facilities located in Kearney, Nebraska, Gothenburg, Nebraska, and Yankton, South Dakota. The company is part of Parker Hannifin Corporation and also operates manufacturing plants in Mexico, the United Kingdom, Belgium, China, Australia, and Morocco. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Primary Production: A large portion of Baldwin and Hastings filters are produced in the USA.
  • International Locations: Baldwin operates facilities in Casablanca, Morocco (purchased in 2007), as well as locations in China, Belgium, and others.
  • Parent Company: Baldwin Filters is part of the Parker Hannifin Corporation Filtration Group.
  • History: Hastings filters are produced under the same parent company, with historic manufacturing roots in the USA. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
It is recommended to check the specific product packaging for its precise country of origin. [1]
Does this information help you verify the location for a specific filter model? If you need me to, I can check if certain filter types are made in specific locations.

We drive a lot, so I have been buying oil filters in 6- or 12-packs from RA. Using Costco oil on sale or Supertech from WallyWorld. Even paying shipping for filters, it's way cheaper than buying an oil filter and jug of oil at the local parts store. I have been using Wix filters for our Gen III and Gen IV LS powered vehicles. I wish those were the same filters, but sadly, they are not. And I keep oil filters for our 3.6 Pentastar. That's still 3 filter types I have to keep stocked...SMH

I tossed some oil filters I still had from the 4.3 era on my Silverado the other day, as well as 5.7 Vortec oil filters I bought at this small auto parts store that closed around Covid for the K3500 I'm parting out.
