Partial List of Front Torsion Bars

Hoping someone here has an answer to this question: Are the various GMT800 front torsion bars different LENGTHS? I'd be disappointed to learn that there are bars my Tahoe canNOT use now, but it'd be far worse if I learn this after buying the WY / YH bars which apparently were never used by a...

    4L65 Lockup Shudder

02 definitely controlled by P01, mechanical cable throttle. 05 controlled by p59 (I think), electrical signal throttle.

Features deleted by GM (gmt800 life cycle)

The main sunshade comes with a slide out bit. Older GMT800s also have a smaller flip-down sunshade that only flips down; move the main sunshade out to the side, if you have the other one you'll know.

Any storage capability inside the seat cushion and/or backrest? Wouldn't know myself, as pickup trucks are incredibly rare in NYC.

Ok if I ask for pics of your '40/20/40 BENCH SEAT W/ STORAGE ARMREST'? Already deleted center console, hoping to find/add 3rd central seat ...

    GT5 4.10 Axles

FYI the 'upgrade' I'm writing of is not a major investment. From the little I managed to glean off of youtube videos about it: there is one spring responsible for detecting the relative RpM difference between the two wheels; by either winding or unwinding the 1st spring once you change the...

    GT5 4.10 Axles

Go snag 'em. Worst case you put 'em in, don't like 'em, swap 'em out for your old axles, and just when you tire of storing them, someone makes you an offer you can't refuse. Best case 'a': you appreciate them more than expected, start preaching to the unconverted, wondering why so many people...

    GT5 4.10 Axles

My Tahoe Z71 has 3.73 axles. To make a long story short, I'd be SO MUCH HAPPIER if it had 4.10s. Don't forget: You'd spend more time in 4th (w/ TCC LOCKED) & 3rd (w/ TCC LOCKED), less time in 2nd. Your city / metro / urban MpG would definitely improve, question is by how much. Even if your...

Partial List of Front Torsion Bars

Next question: If I acquire the 'YH' torsion bars from a Chevy Silverado 1500 (with an L33!), will my Tahoe be able to use them? Or am I going to find out that they're too long / too short, or too thick / too thin to work with my Tahoe? In other words: Are torsion bars from a 4WD Tahoe/Yukon /...

Partial List of Front Torsion Bars

In which case I'll check junkyards first ... Did ye notice the list up top? Still working on it; if ANYONE has ANY helpful info regarding what bars go with what models, post 'em up. Right now I'm thinking of trying to find torsion bars from this group: 15048311 & 15048312 . . . . 6XM&7XM . . ...

Auto Ride Restoration? Is It Worth It? Edit - Installed Bilstein Delete Kit.

And yet, so far as I can find, Moog only recommends 81069 & 81071 rear coils for Tahoes/Yukons/Escalades, Suburbans/XLs/ESVs 1500, and Avalanches/EXTs 1500. Moog has cleverly omitted spring rate info from many coil listings, makes it much harder to determine which other coils they offer that...

Partial List of Front Torsion Bars

At risk of redundancy, I was actually asking in hopes of a response, if anyone knows anywhere else (besides junkyards) to source stiffer torsion bars?

Partial List of Front Torsion Bars

Gave credit to 'batboy' in the previous post, but forgot to mention something he said that might be very important: Is it true that pickup trucks use different-length torsion bars compared to Tahoes / Suburbans / Avalanches? Whether or not that's true, can a Tahoe use 2" longer torsion bars...

Hauling VERY heavy with an '02 Tahoe Z71, NEED stiffer springs

Looks like Moog omitted several numbers from their master spring chart, which absolutely flummoxes any hope I have of comparison; forced to simply trust either General Spring or Dorman ... For now, only question left is: where do I source torsion bars? (Am I stuck with used torsion bars from...

Hauling VERY heavy with an '02 Tahoe Z71, NEED stiffer springs

Was it a Tahoe/Yukon or a Suburban/XL? Or was it a pickup truck? Most important, WHICH WHEEL(S) LIFTED? Any other 'data' about the spring 'rates' involved - as in, which bars and/or coils? - would be greatly appreciated.
