    Smeding is a top notch company, I'd trust them 100%. The shortblocks look killer, the 427 at 1300hp, might need to be tamed for the street. Though the 408 is advertised at 1000hp also. I am not sure which is better to go with the 58 or 24, I think the 58 is better overall, except it might not...

    That Catalina sounds like nice car. You make a good point about it being a Daily Driver also, that LSX Chevy is giving a warranty for 2 years or 50k miles, so they feel the build is pretty rock solid. A beauty too it being a LS it'll swap right into any GMT800, just need the Lingenfelter 58-24...

    True, you could piece it together cheaper, it is representative of what can be done. One could get a decent GMT800 truck for around 4-5k (clean, decent paint etc.) and then build it with that engine, 4L80e, 4.10's etc. and not be over 35k. Sounds like a lot until one looks at the prices of used...

    The field is wide open, you can be the king of torsion bar knowledge. Back in the day working on cars, mopars had torsion bars and they were all different lengths by body style (A Body, B Body, etc.), so I wouldn't be surprised if they were different between the SUV's and Trucks.

    OEM are $500 apiece for my rig, $200 per isn't bad. I also in the old days had built a tool, long threaded rod to pull them into the arm with an impact.

    Either that or a machine shop can knock them out quick with a regular press. The $500 a piece for loaded control arms is usually not something a I see people spring for.
