It would only do it on the highway after a miles of driving and most of the time go away by the time i got to my destination. It was pretty random initially and i drove it on a few trips from 4-6 hours.Eventually it was more consistent with the tick and it bugged me enough to pull the engine and do a freshen up. One of the lifters had little sand-like particles when i removed the little cap, but otherwise no other internal damage. In fact, everything looked like it had minimal wear for an engine that had 260k and just did new bearings, piston rings, lifters/cam and gasket set.No real way of telling how much longer an engine with a tick would run. There's simply too many variables and too many unknowns.</blockquote>
