Before I even think about additional auxiliary back-up lighting, first let me ask:

Is anyone significantly impressed / pleasantly surprised by how bright their 3157 back-up light bulbs are?
Would anyone mind recommending me their unusually bright 3157 back-up light bulbs, so I can make nocturnal creatures recoil when I reverse?

I know you were looking for reverse bulb recommendations but for me I installed two flush mounted leds in the bumper which was a complete game changer. I haul trailers and live in Alberta where it is dark a lot of the time during the winter. They were great. I just bought cheap ones on Amazon and they were great! However I needed to cut two holes in my bumper which was scary lol

Backup camera is a good idea too, bu they don't work that well in the dark, and I want to scare people away with lights when backing up ...
which makes me think a noisier back-up option is a good idea - not that I ALWAYS want the noise, but a noise OPTION never hurts.

Auxiliary backup bulbs in the bumper is a good idea, but I want them higher up AS WELL, like in those plastic panels above the tailights?

I'm using these, but you can go much brighter.

The brighter option is just to use an LED headlight in the reverse socket. I did this with another vehicle using a GTR Lighting kit.

I would go with the Auxito LED 3157 replacement recommended above.
I've had 7W LEDs (I don't remember the brand, bought 2+ years ago) and they work pretty well. LEDs will put out 8x-10x the light per watt compared to the OE bulbs, so they can really increase rear lighting. I also installed LED backup lights on my wife's Accord with similarly good results - highly recommend.
Auxitos are quality LEDs for a reasonable cost, they mount with no modifications and use less power than the original bulbs.

I'm not trying to reengineer the wheel ... at this time ... but please keep the ideas coming, someone else might benefit as well.

For now this seems like the idea.
Thanks to you all.
