Today was my longest drive time with the new to us truck. Noticed that the p/s mirror was rock solid but the d/s mirror has slight "shakes" at the glass portion. while driving. Gonna do some research to fix that, short of replacing the whole assembly. My design has the accordion pleats close to the mount on door area, because they are the extendable type.

Generally, if the mirror itself is positionable within the housing, it’s the motor mount or the fingers the the glass snaps into. Lots of vibration, overhanging weight with a small footprint, tended to wear faster. If it’s the whole housing the mirror is mounted into it’s the torsion spring (looks like a lever arm, but it’s made of spring steel) inside the housing that bears against the fixed arm.

It is just the glass itself that shakes/vibes. It does move as it should when adjusting. Can the guts be bought, that you know of? I looked at RA and see no listed replacement mirrors.

Sometimes if it’s the cage it can be stiffened up, but you’d have to pop the glass out to get to it. I’ll see if I have one with a broken glass to show you how to not break it taking it apart… once the glass is out of the way it’s fairly simple to beef it up

Don't you tilt the bottom all the way in and then use a strong straight or 90 degree pick from the top and release a tab or two and pull out at top?
