Substitute mirrors for tow mirrors?

That is exactly the style I do not want. I am going to install the smaller stock style mirror. See post #4. That basic style and then a set of clip-ons if needed.

Perfect, I like the smaller mirrors.

Would not have worked for me. I am not a chrome fan.

Further research. I measured the existing tow mirrors and mirrors on my 2005 Tahoe Z71. From the glass to the mirror outer tip. The tow mirrors are 17" and the Tahoe mirrors are 15". It looks like more because of mirror design. I am just gonna get a new glass or fix existing. For 2" on each side, I am gonna stick with OE.

Since I had made up my mind to change to the smaller mirrors, I never checked the ability to extend and retract the existing mirrors. I just tried them and they worked flawlessly. Actually kind of surprised me.
