I believe some have had issues getting the lines to seal to other components. FYI...NiCop also will not corrode, but is softer than Stainless and easier to seal. I have not seen pre-bent lines from NiCop though, so that may be an issue.
Reseating them a few times is usually helpful there.

Also Nicop is amazing

I love nicop brake lines. I've got tools to straighten nicop to make factory looking lines, but I usually just do it by hand. If someone gives me grief because my brake lines aren't perfectly straight, I'm going to ask why are you so close?

Did this with my hands, only slightly too long so it was annoying to connect but nice to be able to hand formIMG_7072.png

My '78 Camaro is all nicop. Every line was trash, converted to manual brakes, added a line lock. Stuff is so easy to work with, it's kinda like cheating.

We also use one of those clamp in a vise Eastwood flaring tools. Also super easy. Chinese clones are now widely available for that as well.

For "crying out loud" trim the zip ties back.

IMHO, the hardest gmt800 parts that currently are or will be the soonest are the following:
Anything Quadrasteer related.
Protec parts.
Traction control parts.
SS or any other specialty submodel parts.
2006 Tahoe LTZ specific parts.
99-02 Medium Oak (peanut butter) interior parts.
99-02 center console keys (haven't seen one in years)

This is my personal experience with working on/stripping vehicles for the last 30+ years in RI/MA.

Your mileage may vary depending upon your market.
@mars2878 where you in MA.. may need a part or 2 in the future.. I'm near 495/pike interchange (Medway)

@black_03_dakota welcome to the forum..

funny I picked up my 07 Silverado classic to replace an HHR as well.. I loved the HHR, but the engine went out on me. a split oil filter (early tsb about it) and timing chain/cam issues did her in. It could hold amazing amount of cargo.

there are still parts aplenty for these gmt800's

NO! :p

It's the car for the Duct Tape Drags, formerly the Zip Tie Drags. Plus, unclipped zip ties are way easier to reuse. And when you're in the staging lanes, that can be a life saver for a junker.
Untrimmed zip-ties are also unlikely to cut your hands...although I still trim most.
