Before assuming the sensor is bad**, check the DRL bulbs. They're high watt bulbs and are often burnt out. I remember when this feature first hit the scene with GMT800's and even practically new trucks were often seen running around with a DRL bulb already burnt out. **edit - just saw I overlooked where you say the headlights are always on, so you may be onto something there with the sensor being bad (or possibly unhooked) It's a #4114, a 31W bulb that runs the entire time you're driving in daylight. That's a brighter filament, in the same size envelope, as a typical brake light - the bright (brake/turn) filament in a #3157 runs 27W and is never on full-time, of course. I tried LED replacements for a while but typical with automotive LED's, they're Chinesium and rarely last as long as you expect they should, for the amount they cost. Many will say you can't run LED's in a DRL application because it could be PWM instead of regular voltage, but I am fairly certain the DRL bulbs in this type of setup are regular voltage. They aren't dual-purpose bulbs that run dimmer for the DRL function and then brighter under other circumstances (like the low beam bulbs in a late GMT400.) I gave up keeping the original incandescent DRL's working in our 06's. My wife turns the headlights on whenever she's driving, anyway.
