Not sure if you could retrofit it to the earlier one (is the hvac opening at the center under dash the same?)  The vents only blow with floor, but the floor airflow is fairly decent if you are sitting back there and its on mix or floor (i have memory of sitting back there many times when we went places, its not bad)</blockquote>
