It's has 319,000+ miles. Working on doing all the maintenance. Plan on changing all fluids. I on cleaning up the interior and want to remove the center console to replace with the jump seat. By doing that will I'll lose rear AC vents? Or are there vents that go under the seat?

Oh wow!

Another cool GMT800!

Welcome from Texas!

Yes, unfortunately deleting the console will delete the rear vents. I deleted the console on my 1999 Silverado extended cab.

The SUVs do have vents on the headliner, but that comes from the rear AC system. I wish they would have designed a similar system for the pickups from the factory...:-(

Didn't have that rear enclosed unit to run the vents in the ceiling to. Would have had to put under a rear crew cab seat. Nightmare.

Welcome from Texas! With that many miles dont forget the front and rear diff, brake fluid and transfer case fluids. There is some discussion regarding the proper transfer fluids, some say oil some say Dex III. I personally went with oil due to possibly voiding my warranty of my rebuilt TCase.
As far as the rear vents there could be an option to 3D print a small vent system that connects to the existing air duct in the console to redirect to a panel that fits under the jump seat. I haven't seen anyone do it or know of an option that exist, but it is a possibility if you or someone dreams it up.

Welcome! That's a pretty sweet looking truck.

As far as AC goes, if you really need AC in the back, you can add an electric AC later for just the back.

If the rear console is deleted, what happens to whatever tubing/piping brought HVAC air to the rear console?
There really isn't a "rear console". There is a front console, in the truck, that has rear seat controls, at the backside of the console, to allow for a/c and heat to be blown out from there. Or I misunderstood what you said.

If the console is removed, then the ductwork would need to be capped off or rerouted elsewhere.

No, I misunderstood. Looking more closely at the pic above, looks a lot like whatever I deleted from my Tahoe, so I could add a pickup truck's central seat,
just that mine did not have any provisions for any HVAC; I guess that one does? So let me rephrase:
When one deletes that very long front console, what happens to the air tubing/piping that went thru it?

Well I guess I need to pull it apart and find out where the vents go.
Mikloangelo the idea about 3D printing is something to think about. Because you could possibly tuck it under the jump seat. Thanks about the whole fluids thing. Those are on the list for sure.

Used to own a '94 Cadillac Fleetwood. Had no center console - had two front seats that when they line up right, the 3rd seat in the middle works better.
Fold that 3rd seatback down and it had a small storage cubby inside the armrest.
ANYWAY
Although it did not have a 'true' center console, it did have foot heating vents hidden under the carpeting.
In the 2000s it was popular to install these extensions in Caprices & Roadmasters.

Even without a center console, maybe whatever connects to that console could still be somehow useful, is my point.

i have floor vents and no console for the rear, they pass through the center of the dash into a duct that snakes along the edge of the tunnel, then flatten out to shoot back into the reart seat.

I was painting my floor last night after fixing water damage and in the top of the photo you can see the plastic bit. That’s the straddle duct. Plugs into the hvac at the floor on the hump by the dash IMG_7648.png

in the photo i sent of my truck, the lower left hand portion of this duct was visible (lifted up so I could paint the floor )

Says 2003-2007 for the one i posted, not sure about earlier. Not sure if you could retrofit it to the earlier one (is the hvac opening at the center under dash the same?)

The vents only blow with floor, but the floor airflow is fairly decent if you are sitting back there and its on mix or floor (i have memory of sitting back there many times when we went places, its not bad)

according to a 2001 new truck features vhs tape on youtube, the gmt800 trucks (but in the 2500HD/3500nHD section, not sure about 1500) it says the rear seat heater ducts (floor) are standard
